Press Event Invitations for Bonobos

Invitations designed for public relations events launching seasonal collections to the press. The Design team provided inspiration used for designing the fashion collection. The invitation reflected the visual themes of each season. This created a cohesive experience for invitees—starting at the moment he or she received an invitation.

Spring 16 Press Event

The concept for the Bonobos Spring '16 Collection came from the home of Yves Saint Laurent in Tangier. Alluding to the Moroccan architectural style, the invitation used geometric patterns and arches. The color palette remained simple and light, with a punch of royal blue to mimic the Mediterranean. To give an appearance of a long journey, we wrinkled and stamped the envelopes. After all, these invitations came all the way "from Morocco."

Fall 2015 Press Event

The public relations team requested an unorthodox invitation—one that would jump out. Editors and members of the press receive hundreds of invites over the course of a year. We created an invitation that mimicked a 7" vinyl record, which served as a preview of the musical tones within the collection. Drawing inspiration from a blend of old British prep and rock influences, the record concept was a success, yielding a high turnout. The invitation accomplished the goal of creating a beautiful piece of print collateral. A piece that invitees would keep long after the evening was all said and done.

The record sleeve was letter-pressed in three colors on 110lb Pearl lettra, and then die cut and assembled. The record was printed on 236lb Ebony Colorpan, and then die cut to fit into the sleeve.

For the event, Bonobos partnered with punk/jazz duo The Mattson 2, who performed live throughout the night. Over 200 invites were sent to members of the press ranging from Conde Nast, Hearst, WSJ, and Complex.
